New Trailer Hitch

We got our new van, so we needed to put a new trailer hitch on it.  Zaron worked really hard on getting this put on.  It took way longer than expected - it took multiple work sessions, but of course he did an excellent job of it!  I'm excited to have a hitch again.

Biking the Tulips

I was so happy to be back to the tulips after a year off due to covid.  We had a wonderful time biking around and seeing the beautiful flowers.  This time Charlotte carried Bailey on her bike.

We hit it at the peak of the bloom.  It was great!  Oh how I love biking in the tulips every year!

Painting with Bob Ross

I have always wanted to paint along with a Bob Ross episode, and I knew Eleanor would be up for doing it with me!  So Eleanor picked out the episode that she wanted to paint and off we went!  It was so much fun, but it took way longer than 1/2 hour to paint.  I think the paintings turned out great though. What a fun activity to do together!

Helping at Ensign Ranch

We had the opportunity to go and help get the camps at Ensign Ranch ready for the summer.  So, we got to camp out in one of the longhouses the night before.  It was great for Charlotte to see where she will be going to camp this year.  We also checked out the other camp where the boys will be for their camp this summer.

Most of us slept in hammocks that we set up in the longhouse.  I decided that I wanted to be warm and so I had a great setup in the van that night.  The girls were jealous of my nice, warm spot.

The next morning Devan and Kelli made breakfast for everyone.  It was yummy.  And it was fun to play with Nicole and Kim.  I think they liked camping.

Then it was off to do the work that we came to do.  We cleaned up all of the fallen branches.  There were a lot!  It was fun to be outside working together though.

After we did the work, we went up to the ropes course and checked it out.  We had fun playing on the equipment and figuring out all of the challenges.

It was a great day!

Eleanor Lately

Just a little update on what Eleanor spends her time doing right now.  Of course most of her time is spent on her head.

She is also trying to teach Bailey some new tricks.

And she is always doing some sort of adventurous thing.

She's such a fun girl!  We love her.

Spring Break Trip to Utah

We decided to take a trip down to Utah since the kids were super excited about skiing this year.  We had to stay in a hotel on the way down there and of course the kids did their favorite thing in the morning when they woke up.  They watched Teen Titans.

We got to stop by my brother's house in Boise for lunch that day.  I hadn't seen it yet, and it is beautiful.  It seems like they are really enjoying living there.  It was fun to see them.  The kids liked riding the hoverboards around their kitchen.

We made it to my Uncle's house at the mouth of Little Cottonwood canyon.  It's always fun to hang out with Uncle Bob.  He's such a great guy, and his house is cool.

The next two days we spent at Brighton skiing.  The weather was perfect and they had just gotten fresh snow the day before.  The kids are loving skiing even more and more.  It was a neat feeling for me that my kids were having the fun experiences I had as a kid, spring skiing in Utah.  It's the best place for that.  And the kids learned how fun it is to go off of jumps.  They had a fun at the terrain parks.  We had a fantastic time, other than Zaron wiping out once and injuring himself, and the fact that I bought ski boots that were 1/2 size too small and my toes were in pain most of the time.

We also got to visit my Aunt Lara in her new assisted living facility.  It was fun to visit with her and we got to talk about family history and go to her house and find some treasures that she has.  Mom and I had a great time doing that together.

While I was with my mom at Aunt Lara's house, Zaron and the kids went and played at the arcade.  I then joined them for some bowling.

On the last day that we were there, we did a bunch of hiking.  We went up to the reservoir near my Uncle's house and that was neat.  There is a beautiful view from up there.

Then we went and drove around the spots in Salt Lake that are memories for me.  One of them is the Garden Park Ward building.  The girls were hoping to feed the ducks there like I did when I was little, but there weren't any ducks!  But we had fun walking around and doing our scripture study there.

Then we went and hiked up Ensign Peak.  It was a neat view from up there.

Then we went to feed the ducks in Sugarhouse since the girls were upset that they didn't get to feed the ducks earlier.

On our way out of town, we went to Antelope Island, somewhere that I have always wanted to go.  We saw lots of bison there, and we got to dip our toes in the Great Salt Lake.  I couldn't believe how low the lake was.  And Charlotte almost lost her shoe in the mud getting to the lake.

What a great trip we had!

Sounders Game

The girls got free tickets to see a Sounders game through their club soccer team, so of course we needed to catch a game this summer. It was...
