YW Camp!

I got to be a cook for camp this year and it was so much fun. The lead cooks, Brianne and Sarah were so organized and amazing and it was a pleasure to work in the kitchen with them. It was SO hot that week, but we got some time to sit with our feet in the river and enjoy some ice cream too. It really didn't end up being that bad honestly.

Charlotte was a 2nd year this year and she had a great time. She was a caterpillar and her leaders were great.  It was so fun to be at camp with Charlotte!

And we started doing the ice cream truck during free time, complete with the "Entertainer" playing in ice cream truck style. It was so fun.

We had amazing YCLs who made cool signs for us each meal.

I got to see Charlotte sometimes, and I got to attend some of the workshops.

It was a super great week. So many great memories and fun times.  And we all felt the Spirit. I loved my talks with the "dream team" cook crew. It was so fun. Now, for a nap and back to reality!

Camp Wall Hanging

I made a fun wall hanging to put up in the kitchen at camp this year. It is the theme which is Turn to the Son to See Your Light, and the levels are 1st years fireflies, 2nd years caterpillars, 3rd years ladybugs, 4th years dragonflies, 5th years butterflies, Stake is greenery, and the cooks are herbs.  I had a lot of fun putting this together. Hopefully everyone else enjoys it too!

Soccer Tournament

Eleanor had a soccer tournament with her team.  Her team is really great.  All of the kids are there are really nice and the families are wonderful.  The girls have fun during downtime and just enjoy each others' company. We are so lucky!

Sugar Gliders

Someone gave us a friend for Sue so she would be happier. It took us a while to introduce the two so they wouldn't fight with each other, but with a little ingenuity of creating a mesh barrier between the two  for a while while they got used to each other, they became great friends! Now they are happy and playing together, spinning together on the wheel and enjoying having a friend.

Sunday Afternoon

This is a lazy summer Sunday afternoon in our house. Naps and play, and the girls doing fun routines on the trampoline. I love this family!

Swim Team

Charlotte and Eleanor had a great year on swim team. Both of them swam really well and improved a ton throughout the season. They had friends on the team too, which was fun.

Of course the culmination of the season is when they get to swim at champs. The girls did amazing at champs this year. Eleanor took 2nd in 25 free, and swam in a relay, and Charlotte took 3rd in the 100 IM, and 5th in 100 free. They are great swimmers!

Great Summer Day

We had a great summer day.  We went to the pool to play and hang out with friends. Eleanor had a great time there.

That evening we went to Alki Beach as a family to have a bonfire and roast hot dogs and enjoy the evening and watch the sunset. It was relaxing and fun.

Summers in Seattle are the best!

Slurpee Day

Happy Anniversary to Zaron and me! Also, the kids never forget it because it is free slurpee day at 7-11. Of course we had to go and get our slurpees!

Young Mens Camp

Liam got to go to Young Men's camp. He had a good time, but of course I didn't get too many details about it. Liam and 3 other boys from our ward went up there.  We missed Liam while he was gone, so I wrote a little message in his blanket for him.

Cool cup

Liam was using his awesome cup that he made at Tamma's house.  It has a cup on top and then a place to put some cookies on the bottom. So creative!

4th of July

We were at home for the 4th of July this year, so we started out the day with the annual breakfast and flag raising. Always a fun time. They had a bike parade this year too!

I took the kids and we went to the demolition derby to see some cars get smashed.  It's always a fun time, and of course they had a great fireworks show after. It was especially fun to see the USA bus launch into the air with a bang. Good times.

What a fun night, and a fun way to celebrate the 4th!
