Sounders Game

The girls got free tickets to see a Sounders game through their club soccer team, so of course we needed to catch a game this summer. It was fun to see a game. Unfortunately, they are on a serious losing streak and the streak continued for the game that we saw, but it was super fun and of course it was great to see the pros play. And at least they scored a goal so that was fun too! Love spending time with these girls.

It's Happening!

Well, Charlotte went to her first senior experience. She took the car and decorated it with her friends. She did a really fun job on it, I think it looks super cute, and fits her personality. Of course there were lots of psych references and all of her friends signed the car. So fun!

Family Gathering

We had an awesome family gathering with Zaron's side of the family. Aunt Barbara and Martin and Becky, Brett, Hank, and Appolonia came too. It was fun to chat with extended family! As always, there were baby bunnies to enjoy - Hank especially loved having the bunnies on his lap. We had amazing food as always with chicken, smoked salmon, yummy salads, and some homemade eclairs for dessert. Always a good time!

A Beautiful Funeral for a Beautiful Lady

We went to the funeral of Theresa Frey, a long time friend and member of our ward. She was very old and lived a good life. Always a classy lady and loved to serve. I had some wonderful talks with her as I drove her to the temple for her volunteer shift and she was a stalwart in our ward. I was honored to be asked to bake some homemade bread for the funeral luncheon, and I enjoyed serving in the kitchen with some awesome people. I was worried that the bread wouldn't turn out well, so I ground the wheat and worked on my recipe all week. I'm happy to say that I think it turned out amazingly well! I'm grateful that I get to be a part of these things every now and then. Zaron also sliced the bread beautifully and I am so grateful for his help. As a thank you for helping, Ruth gave me one of the flower arrangements from the funeral. It is so beautiful. All of my favorite colors and it is so bright and cheery. I am blessed.

Last Hurrah at Wild Waves

Sadly, Wild Waves is shutting down after this season. So, Eleanor really wanted to go one last time. So we packed up our "soup soups" and headed down to Federal Way for a day of waterslides and rides. We had a fun time, but the lines were long, things were run pretty inefficiently, lots of rides were shut down, and you could tell that maintenance was not a top priority for them anymore. It was disappointing, but we made the most of it and got several rides in throughout the day. We rode both rollercoasters which was fun. I always love a wooden rollercoaster. The kids loved the yellow coaster. Overall, I'm glad we went one last time, but we definitely felt like we would have liked to do more, but the lines and the way it was run didn't make that possible. Oh well, we got to go one last time at least!

Flowers from the Market

Zaron, Liam and I decided to go to the Renton Farmer's Market  to check it out. It was fun to walk around and see all of the great things people were selling. Of course, the flowers are always amazing, and Zaron got me a bouquet to take home. It's so beautiful and I am enjoying it so much!

Charlotte's Friend trip

Charlotte was lucky to be invited on a trip with some friends for the week. They rented an awesome home on the river on the east side and had a great time together. They played pickleball, paddleboarded, jet skied, baked, and played lots of games. They even got to eat out for a fancy dinner. She had an amazing time. I'm so grateful she has such great friends. She surrounds herself with awesome people.

Blackberries and Friend

Eleanor had a friend over and they decided they wanted to bake something with blackberries. So they went in the neighborhood and picked a bunch of blackberries and made a yummy blackberry crisp. It was yummy, especially with ice cream. I love blackberry season! And Eleanor has such great friends. I love it!

WLEEA Academy

Charlotte has been working with the Police Explorers this year. She really loves it. This summer she got the opportunity to go to the summer Explorer Academy camp. it is a very intense week, kind of like a boot camp. There is lots of PT, and it is a really hard experience. Charlotte was very nervous to go, but she survived it and was very proud of herself for making it through. Zaron and I got to go to the training facility in Yakima where camp was held to see the graduation day. It was cool to see Charlotte march in.

On their way home, they have a tradition to stop at a burger place, and then do some cliff jumping together.

The next day, she gave us all a taste of what it was like at camp by doing PT with us. It is intense! I am impressed that she handled it amazingly. She's a tough girl, that's for sure!

Unwanted Socks

Bailey has been licking her paws a lot lately and it's getting really annoying. Finally, Eleanor decided to do something about it and fashioned some socks to put on her. She was not super happy, but it seems to be keeping her from licking her paws. And she just looks adorable with them on.

Lady Hawks

A neighbor friend is a super fan of the Seahawks. It's so fun because she always decks herself out for Seahawks season. She is the superfan between her husband and her, so sometimes he doesn't want to go with her. So she has a list of "Lady Hawks" that she calls on when she has an extra ticket. I am lucky enough to be on the list of Lady Hawks so I got to go to training camp with her. It was a fun and relaxing day!

M's Game

We did our annual M's game with my family while Paul was here for the week. Always a fun time with everybody in the nosebleed seats. The M's are struggling this year, but we are still superfans. Always! It was just Liam, Eleanor and me this year since Corban and Charlotte were gone and Zaron doesn't do well in those environments. We had fun though!

Boating!

We got to go boating with Paul and Kelli's families one evening. It was a great time. All of the kids did well, and I was able to bribe Kim and Brynley to try out surfing and they both did amazing. Worth the $20 for sure. I love seeing the kids try new things and have fun doing it. I love hanging out on the boat, and enjoying the weather. We also did the grape challenge where we threw grapes at the person surfing to see if they could catch it in their mouth. I think Liam, Eleanor, and Kelli were successful. And it was funny to see Macey chewing gum and blowing bubbles the entire time she was surfing. And Kelli landed a 360! All in all a great day!
